About Stanwell Events
Stanwell Events is a registered charity (No. 1187357) established in 2018 to reduce social isolation and financial hardship in Stanwell.
Founded by Anna-Marie Goodacre, the charity began with a simple Easter Egg Hunt designed to bring families together.m What started as one event has grown into a community-led organisation delivering year-round activities and support for residents.
In 2025, the charity completed the transformation of a former park building at Long Lane Recreation Ground into a fully accessible Community Hub.
The redevelopment was funded through Your Fund Surrey, the Community Ownership Fund and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding.
In 2024 the organisation also secured core operational funding for three years, ensuring stability and sustainability for the services delivered from the hub.
Today we are supported by:
- A volunteer board of trustees
- A small staff team
- Over 35 dedicated volunteers
